Shackle type 252

Code: 665131
Brand: Crosby
On a synthetic sling shackle, the bow of the shackle is widened to increase synthetic roundsling efficiency as compared to standard anchor and chain shackle bows and conventional hooks. This design allows for 100% of the sling’s workin load limit to be achieved by preventing the slings from pinching or bunching, which can damage the slings or reduce their rated capacity. Type 252 synthetic sling shackle comes in a bolt type design (type C). Shackles with pin, nut and cotter pin are used for long-term connections and for those purposes where the pin may rotate under load.

Shackle bolt: type C
Shackle shape: belly

Increased radius of bow on a synthetic sling shackle gives wider sling bearing surface resulting in an increased area for load distribution and allowing for better load distribution on internal fibers. A bolt type shackle features the combination of a bolt and nut located alongside a cotter pin. These types of shackles remain secure even when the shackle is subjected to rotation or torque. The tightening nut and the cotter pin eliminate the need to tighten the pin prior to every lift or movement of a load. This product is an all aloy construction. Synthetic sling shackle type 252 meets or exceeds all requirements of ASME B30.26. Aditionally, this product meet other critical preformance requrements, including fatigue life, impact properties and material traceability, not addresed by ASME B30.26. Galvanized shackles are protected against elements that may cause accelerated corrosion or deterioration to the product

  • Warranty: 1 year
