The crane operator controls the lifting process by simply inserting the lower leg into the center of the coil. Handles make it easier for the operator to mount the coils. The bottom carrying arm's tapered design both makes it easier to enter the coil and lessens coil damage. Unloaded, coil hooks without counterweight compensation are crooked but have a very low dead weight. This makes it simple to hold the C-hook in the scales by hand and guide it safely into the coil eye. C-Hooks are manufactured in Slovenia and have a safety factor of 4:1.
